It’s about time we have implemented laser technology into the medical field. While this may not be the same as the kind of lasers in your favorite Star Wars film, the technology is opening up many possibilities in many different areas, one of which is skin resurfacing.

Skin Re-what?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing, also known as abrasion or laser peel, is an incredible cosmetic procedure that reduces facial wrinkles and diminishes skin irregularities, such as blemishes, discoloration or acne scars. This means that a huge variety of skin abnormalities can be completely fixed to reveal the smooth, healthy skin of your dreams.

How Do Lasers Restore Skin?

The laser resurfacing procedure is a very simple process. Short, concentrated-pulsating beams of light are used to lift and remove irregular skin, one layer at a time. This very precise treatment results in a clean, fresh layer of skin being exposed, leaving you with healthy, luminous skin! The treatment begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin, followed by the application of a numbing lotion. Then a laser device is used to remove the outer layers of skin, resulting in a very quick and usually painless process!

Where Can Treatment be Applied?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is designed to use correct many conditions on the face, including acne scars, age spots, crow’s feet, droopy eyelids, bags under the eyes, scars, and wrinkles. However it can also be used anywhere sun-damaged skin, such as sunspots, occurs. This makes it a very versatile treatment.
