What Is Perlane®?

Perlane®, also known as Restylane® Lyft is an FDA-approved injectable dermal filler for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Developed by Galderma, the creators of the original Restylane®, Perlane® is among the newest of dermal fillers to be available. It is a gel-like substance that is injected below the skin, specifically around the cheeks and lips, to increase elasticity and give patients fuller, more voluminous skin. Perlane® also reduces the look of wrinkles and lines in the skin, resulting in a radiant, youthful appearance. By use of hyaluronic acid (HA), Perlane® naturally increases hydration of your skin. HA is a natural component of the skin that binds with water, providing your skin with much-needed moisture.

How is Perlane® Beneficial?

Perlane®, also known as Restylane® Lyft is an FDA-approved filler treatment that safely and effectively combats the effects of aging and diminishing volume in the skin. Specifically used on the cheeks and nasolabial folds, Perlane® is especially beneficial to patients looking to increase volume and fullness in their cheek and lip areas. Over time, experience and stress can begin to take a toll on the body, causing your skin to begin losing hydration, leading to loss of elasticity and suppleness beneath the surface. As your body ages, it slows the natural production of hyaluronic acid in the skin, causing the areas around your cheekbones to sag and appear sunken or hollow. Patients turn to Perlane® because of the following benefits:

  • Fast, easy, minimally-invasive procedure
  • Naturally occurring ingredients
  • Immediately visible results
  • No downtime or recovery time required
  • Fuller, firmer, more voluminous appearance
  • Effective alternative to cosmetic surgery
  • Boosted confidence and self-esteem.
  • Reduced appearance of nasolabial folds (lines that run from nostrils to the mouth)

Is Perlane® Right for Me?

If you are a healthy man or woman afflicted by moderate to severe wrinkles and creases in the face, Perlane® may be for you. Patients who have not had any fillers within the past four months, and are not on any medications that may interfere with the process, are welcome to discuss this filler treatment with our staff. Perlane® is especially effective for patients with severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds as it penetrates far beneath the skin by way of deeper injections. Perlane® is a superb choice for those who wish to see an increase in facial volume and fullness in their cheekbones.

How Involved is the Perlane® Procedure?

As with most common dermal filler injections, Perlane® is administered directly to the affected areas using a very thin needle. The injections can be done in our Weston office and take only a short period of time. A topical numbing cream may be applied if you so desire, however, many patients find it unnecessary, as there is little to no pain felt during the procedure. You may experience a slight tender feeling at the injection site, but there is no required recovery period and you are free to leave our office immediately following treatments. Dental work and massage should be avoided for two weeks following the procedure.

How Long is the Recovery After the Perlane® Procedure?

Following Perlane® treatments, patients are free to return to their daily responsibilities immediately. You may experience slight bruising, soreness, redness or swelling on or near the injection site. This is common and subsides within a few days. No bandages are needed, though it is recommended that you avoid contact with your face. Dental work and massage should be avoided for two weeks following the procedure.

Results can be seen almost immediately, though will develop fully over a few days. Final results should last anywhere from 12 to 18 months.

What is the Cost of Perlane®?

As most dermal fillers are often combined with other treatments or procedures, the final cost may vary from patient to patient. Patients sometimes elect to repeat the procedure, further affecting the cost. Financing options are available.
