Your jowls and lower face have started to sag.
A facelift lifts the midface and jowls and tightens loose skin along the jawline and neck. A mini facelift is a smaller surgery for sagging along the jawline, with a shorter recovery.

A neck lift tightens the neck and jawline, removing fat under the chin and smoothing muscle bands, without a full facelift.

Surgery and recovery
One to four hours in surgery under IV sedation or general anesthesia. Back at work in a few days to two weeks.
The first week
Rest with your head elevated, even while sleeping, to keep swelling down. Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are normal.
Weeks two to four
Eyelid surgery patients are often back at work within days, and facelift patients in about a week. A brow lift or full facelift can take up to two weeks. Full exercise usually returns around four weeks, once Dr. Eberle clears you.
The months after
Swelling keeps settling over several months, and your results continue to refine as the tissues heal.
