As our bodies age, our eyes do too. Puffy eyes or droopy eyelids can make you look tired and appear years older than you actually are. As the eyelid skin stretches, muscles will weaken, and fat pockets begin to bulge. This can be hereditary or just a sign of aging. Upper eyelid surgery removes and tightens excess skin, giving you a more alert and youthful appearance and in some cases, improving vision.

Blepharoplasty corrects the unsightly accumulation of excess skin above the eye and helps patients look younger, more alert and less tired by removing excess loose and sagging skin around the upper eyelids.

At Weston Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Eberle uses a special in-office technique without the need for general anesthesia. First, Dr. Eberle makes incisions in the natural skin creases of the eyelid. Next, excess fat and skin are trimmed away to make the eyelids smoother. Finally, the incisions are held closed with small sutures

Upper eyelid surgery can be performed in conjunction with a brow lift – during a brow lift surgery, the skin above the brows is elevated and smoothed for a refreshed and younger-looking appearance. These two surgeries can transform the face and make you look younger, more awake, and more rejuvenated.

If you live in Fort Lauderdale or Broward County, and you’re dissatisfied with the way your eyelids appear, upper eyelid surgery may be the solution.
