What Is Voluma™?
Voluma™ is an injectable dermal filler treatment that uses hyaluronic acid (HA) to eliminate the appearance of wrinkles in order to promote fuller, smoother skin. It is the first and only of its kind to be FDA-approved for the treatment of age-related skin volume loss. Voluma™ uses Vycross™ technology, an innovative new technique that allows the gel-like solution to absorb smoothly into the skin, filling crevices and contours with a formula designed to lift and boost firmness and elasticity from beneath the skin’s surface. Voluma™ is FDA-approved to treat loss of skin volume in the cheeks and mid-face regions.
Benefits of Voluma™
Because of its innovative techniques and efficiency, Voluma™ is a widely popular dermal filler treatment. Its unique ability to firm and lift the skin from beneath the surface sets it apart from its counterparts. The combination of the Vycross™ technology and the use of hyaluronic acid makes Voluma™ a favorite among patients. Patients are especially satisfied with the following benefits:
- Skin has a bouncier, suppler, smoother appearance.
- Quickly and easily administered.
- Long-lasting results, up to two years.
- Ingredients that appear in the human body.
- No recovery time.
- Immediate results.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Voluma™?
Men and women in good general health over the age of 21 may be good candidates for Voluma™. If you wish to increase elasticity and volume in your cheeks or mid-face area, Voluma™ can help. This product is effective in softening and smoothing out lines and wrinkles in people of younger ages who are beginning to show onset signs of aging. Older patients may also benefit from the treatments.
How Involved is the Voluma™ Procedure?
When administered properly by Dr. Nathan Eberle or Pamela Miller, PA-C, in our Weston office, the Voluma™ procedure is minimally invasive, quick, easy and virtually painless. Voluma™ is injected directly into the desired areas of the skin using a refined injection process. Patients are welcome to request topical anesthesia, though it is often unnecessary. Because there is no required recovery period, patients are free to return to their daily activities immediately.
How Long is the Recovery Period Following Voluma™?
There is no recovery period following the Voluma™ injections. Patients are welcome to return to their everyday routine immediately following the procedure. Dental work and massage should be avoided for two weeks following the procedure. Though some patients may experience swelling, redness, itching or tenderness at the injection site, these side effects are temporary and will subside in a few days.
How Much Does Voluma™ Cost?
The cost of Voluma™ varies from patient to patient. Some patients require multiple injections throughout different areas of the cheeks or mid-face area, whereas others choose to only administer one injection per visit. Oftentimes, patients opt to combine this procedure with another dermal filler treatment, further altering the final cost. Financing is available.
