Once reshaped according to the patient’s wishes, the incisions are closed with dissolving sutures. The surgical process usually takes one to two hours.
The full recovery takes about a month. Common side effects include soreness, tenderness, bruising, and swelling.
Most women return to work within a week. A pad is worn during this time due to post-surgery bleeding.
Strenuous activity and heavy lifting are avoided. A donut cushion makes sitting more comfortable. Bruising and swelling steadily resolve.
Sexual contact and tampon use should be avoided for at least one month to allow the area to fully heal.
