Overview

What Is a Neck Lift for Men?

A neck lift is a sensitive, personalized procedure that is used to tighten the skin around the neck and throat area. Each individual’s problem areas will be assessed and adjustments tailored to meet the desired result. Neck lifts are especially useful in removing the droop of the skin or the “turkey neck” effect that appears underneath the chin. The sagging skin is surgically adjusted to achieve a taut, younger-looking appearance.

Benefits

What Are the Benefits of a Neck Lift for Men?

Some men find the skin around their neck loses elasticity earlier or more visibly than the skin on their face. The presence of loose, sagging skin beneath the chin may detract from an otherwise youthful appearance.

A neck lift can reverse the look of sagging skin around the jowls, beneath the chin, and around the throat and neck, as well as eliminate the undesired “turkey neck” look. Many men find the procedure allows them to look and feel more youthful and attractive.

Recovery

How Long Is the Recovery Period After a Neck Lift for Men?

The length of recovery following a neck lift can vary from person to person, though most patients are able to return to work within one to two weeks. Common side effects include soreness, bruising, swelling, and skin numbness or tightness around the incision site. For the first 10 days it is highly recommended that the neck and head remain elevated and that button-down shirts are worn to avoid stress on the incisions. A compression bandage should also be worn.
