Smooth lines, soften scars, and rebuild collagen without lasers, heat, or downtime. It is a safer alternative to fractional resurfacing engineered for every skin tone.

Overview

What Is Dermapen®?

Dermapen® is a revolutionary treatment that removes imperfections in the skin, including scarring, age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles, while increasing collagen production for smoother, firmer skin. Weston Center for Plastic Surgery is one of the most trusted providers of Dermapen® in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County.

The device looks like a pen, with multiple very fine needles at the tip. Stamped across the skin in a precisely controlled pattern, those needles create thousands of micro-channels that prompt the body to produce new collagen, the structural protein responsible for the skin’s firmness and elasticity. As collagen rebuilds, scars and wrinkles fade.

Why Dermapen®

Benefits of Dermapen®

Effective on scars, acne, fine lines, creases, and discoloration, without the side effects of heat-based laser treatments.

Softer Scars

Effective on acne, surgical, and burn scars. The micro-channels trigger collagen remodeling that smooths the underlying scar tissue over a series of sessions.

Smoother Texture

Fine lines, wrinkles, and crepey skin tighten as new collagen rebuilds the dermal foundation. The surface reads firmer, plumper, more even.

Brighter Tone

Hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and discoloration fade as the skin sheds and renews. Topical serums applied during the session penetrate deeper for amplified results.

The Mechanism

How Micro-Needling Works

The Dermapen tip carries a series of very fine needles that puncture the surface of the skin in a controlled, automated pattern. Those punctures cause a microscopic trauma the body reads as injury and responds to with a fresh wave of collagen production as part of its natural healing response.

The same micro-channels double as delivery routes for the topical nutrients and serums applied during the session, transporting them deeper into the dermis than topical application alone could ever reach. The result is amplified, more lasting effects per treatment.

Comparison

Dermapen® vs. Lasers

Similar, often superior, results to fractional lasers without the heat, pigmentation risk, or downtime.

vs. Fractional Lasers

Lasers use heat and light to create micro-trauma. They can be effective, but they carry a risk of hyperpigmentation and longer downtime. Dermapen creates the same controlled micro-channels mechanically, without heat.

Safer for Darker Skin

Because Dermapen doesn't rely on melanin-absorbing laser energy, it's far safer on Mediterranean, Latino, Asian, East Indian, and African skin tones. All skin types and colors qualify.

The Recovery

Micro-needling requires little to no downtime. Avoid direct sun, strenuous activity, and other facial treatments for 24 hours. Skin reads red and slightly swollen immediately after, sometimes with pinpoint bleeding, all of which subsides within three days. Most patients are back at work the next day; some return the same day.

Cost & Sessions

Patients often see visible results after the very first session, but a series of four to six treatments is recommended for full effect, depending on your aesthetic goals. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, and PatientFi.
