HOW ARE INJECTABLE FILLERS ADMINISTERED?

Injectable fillers are administered directly into the affected areas of the face using a very thin, fine-gauge needle. If desired, Nathan Eberle, M.D., D.D.S., F.A.C.S. may recommend using topical anesthesia may be applied to prevent any discomfort. To treat minor surface wrinkles and lines, fillers can be administered to the outmost layers of skin, whereas deep creases and grooves require delivery to the deeper layers of the skin. It is not uncommon to feel a warm, stinging sensation during the procedure, though it should only last temporarily, after which you will be left with firmer, smoother skin.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD AFTER RECEIVING INJECTABLE FILLERS?

Because the intensity and location of the treatment vary from patient to patient, recovery time can take anywhere from a few hours to few days. Some patients experience tenderness or bruising at the injection site, but most find they can return to their daily activities after leaving the office.
